The Bridge Church Monthly Message - April 2011 - Enjoy Life
Life is a journey, a process of advancement and progression. As we move toward the future, we must be careful not to lose sight of the now and the enjoyment it can bring us.
I believe life should be a celebration, but far too many people don’t even enjoy life, let alone celebrate it. They may be on their way to heaven, but they are certainly not enjoying the trip!
I was one of those people, but God has taught me so much about how to enjoy life, even in the midst of difficulties and frustrations.
Jesus said in John 10:10 I came that they might have life and have it to the fullest measure (Wade)
And have it in abundance. And have it till it overflows. And have it to the full. And have that which is excellent. Possessing it in super abundance. (Wuest)
And may have it more and more. These are just some different translations of this scripture.
Enjoying life is not based on enjoying circumstances. It is an attitude of the heart. My husband always says, we should have an attitude of gratitude. When you discover that the world is not going to change, you may decide to change your approach to the things you face in life and make a remarkable difference!
That abundant quality of life comes from God and is not full of stress, fear, worry, anxiety or depression. God is not impatient or on a hurry, He takes time to enjoy His creation and He wants us to do the same. Take time and smell the roses!
There is joy available to us when we take the time to tap into it. We can either block joy, or release joy. Keeping things simple brings joy and complication blocks it out. Get out of the bondage of religion and return to the simplicity and believing and having a Father/child relationship. Approach God with childlike faith. You are precious to God and He loves and cares for you.
Matt 18:3 Truly I say to you, unless you repent, change and turn about, and become like little children, trusting, lowly, loving and forgiving, you can never enter the Kingdom of God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you simplicity. Learn to change and enjoy life.
Enjoy your spouse, children, family, work, friends and church. You can’t change the people in your life but you can do something about you!
Learn to enjoy the journey of life. We all have a great opportunity to put this into practice as we come together to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus. We invite you to our special Easter weekend services on Friday 22nd April 7pm & Sunday 24th 11am. We have dance, drama and music and Easter eggs for the children.
Jesus gave His life for you on the cross so you could have life abundantly. Lets not lose sight of that and keep it at the forefront of our mind. He endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. Don’t live below the level of joy He paid the price for.
We and all the congregation of the Bridge Church pray you have a blessed Easter and walk in the fullness of all God has for you.
