The Bridge Church Monthly Message - May 2011 - No Division

Colossians 3:11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised or uncircumcised, Barbarians, Scythian, slave or free, but Christ is all in all.

When it says there is neither Jew nor Greek - This refers to race.

When it says there is neither slave nor free - That is social.

Neither circumcised nor uncircumcised - That is religious.

Neither Barbarian nor Scythian - That is cultural.

Neither male nor female - That is sexist.

But Christ is all in all.

In Jesus Christ:

We have no racial division, no social division, no religious division, no cultural division, no sexual divisiveness.

There are no denominational boundaries because we are all one.

We must learn to build on our similarities and celebrate our differences. We live in a divided world but as God’s people, we must work at the unity of faith in Jesus in the bond of peace. We are change agents bringing a message of faith, hope and peace to all people. Let’s determine to bring light and life wherever we are and not get involved in divisiveness. You carry a message of good news and you are to spread that around. Be contagious with the Gospel and people will be attracted to you.

This month at The Bridge we have The Watoto Children’s Choir from Uganda and we want to do our best to bless them in the great work they are doing in raising finances for the orphanages in Uganda.

We have a very special friend, Pastor Tom Inglis from Australia.

We want to thank all of you for your very encouraging messages, cards and prayers for us at this time. I had a heart attack two weeks ago and thankfully, I am on the road to recovery. By His stripes I am healed and He is my strength. Amen. Nan and I draw so much strength from our church family and from friends. God bless you as you continue to be profitable for His Kingdom and be that display case for Jesus.
