If you knew the purpose and benefit of prayer, you would not neglect to make it a daily habit. Seven days without prayer makes one weak!! Many times we are looking for solutions to our problems in the wrong places. We should always go to God in prayer at the first instance and from there we can go forward.

The best way to start your day is with prayer. Begin by thanking and praising God for the great blessing He is to you and your family. There is so much to praise Him for that it will take you quite some time. Then begin to intercede for the government and those in authority, for our nation so that God will protect us from evil forces that wish to destroy our country. Pray for your church and missionary programmes, for the pastors and leaders and for one another. Ask God for souls saved. Pray for your family. Before you know it, you will have prayed for quite some time. 

Not always knowing the needs of each person you are praying for, trust the Holy Spirit to guide you, and pray in tongues.

Romans 8:26 When you don’t know what to pray for as you ought, the Holy Spirit Himself will make intercession with groanings that cannot be uttered. 

When you pray in the Spirit, you pray according to the will of God. After prayer you will be able to meet the challenges and opportunities the day will present. Without a time of prayer in your life, you have only your natural resources to depend on, but know that only through Christ can you do all things. He is your strength and your peace. 

There are many illustrations in the bible of the power of prayer in the lives of men and women. But our best example can be seen in the life of Jesus. The source of His power was in the times He spent alone in prayer with His Father God. He said he could do nothing unless the Father revealed it to Him. Make it a habit to approach the throne of grace with your petitions. Ask in faith, believing, and God will direct your steps. 

Dr Paul Y Cho said, Come to God boldly. If you don’t exercise your legal right of entry before the Father, then you are negating the atoning work of Christ at Calvary. You belong to the intimate, select group who have been given access to the Father’s throne. It is free but not cheap. It is free to you, but it cost Christ His life. Won’t you take advantage of what is rightfully yours in Christ, through prayer?

If you are fed up with the powerless prayers you hear coming from your lips and you are willing to spend more time in prayer, then get ready for a dramatic change in your life bringing you into a new dimension in prayer. Be earnest in your praying and set priorities for your time. Many things will try and distract you and keep you from praying but be consistent and you will reap the benefits of answered prayer. 

We invite you to join us at our corporate prayer meetings , where we are trusting God for a prayer revival. Purpose in your heart to pray every day and to get to all the prayer meetings you can. There is power in prayer.
