I took this photo while I was out walking. What a good depiction of stillness and peace. With all the bustle around us its sometimes not easy to get quiet and to be still long enough to gather our thoughts and reflect over the day or contemplate what is ahead. If we don’t take time out we will go with the demands and stresses put upon us. It seems cool to just go with the flow, but only dead fish go with the flow! Live fish will swim against the current and leap over waterfalls to get to their destination. They literally swim upriver. To achieve peace may seem like an upriver experience but its well worth it. Switch off the TV and your phone. If its nice, get out the house and take a walk where there is no distractions. Look around you at the beauty of God’s creation. Smell a flower, watch a bird, sing or hum a song and be thankful. Design personal time with God into your day and have a clear plan of what you will do. Philippians 4:8-9Fix your thoughts on what is true and good and right. Think about the pure and lovely and on the fine good things in others. Think about all you can praise God for and be glad about.Keep putting into practice these things and the God of peace will be with you. It’s good to have the peace of God in you but just think, it’s even better to have the God of peace who never leaves nor forsakes you.Life is so daily and every day is a little life in itself. Satisfaction, fulfilment, and peace come from living life with the God of peace and being still as we spend time with Him.Nan
